Physiotherapy
Since our inception in 1996, when our founder began providing therapy services as a solo practitioner, we have been dedicated to delivering quality physiotherapy. Over the years, we have grown to become one of the leading providers in resident outcome-focused physiotherapy. Our team of therapists work tirelessly to improve function, rehabilitate from injuries, and maintain a level of independence that only proper mobility can provide.
Treatments
Our physiotherapists understand that each patient requires specialised treatment regardless of their mobility level. Therapists will assess the needs of each resident and can provide treatments, including but not limited to:
- Stretching: Range of movement & positioning.
- Strengthening Exercises: For weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing patients.
- Pain Management: Such as massage therapy.
- Exercise Classes: Seated and standing group exercises.
- Walking and Balance Exercises: One-to-one walking and walking groups.
Falls Prevention
Falling is a major risk to residents at all levels of mobility. Our physiotherapists provide strategies and training on preventing falls. We promote a multifactorial approach to falls management, encouraging collaboration with care staff and doctors to monitor medication, vitamin supplementation, prescription of equipment, as well as exercise programs and strength training.
Measuring and Reporting Outcomes
Measuring and reporting outcomes is a critical part of our treatment program. We work closely with facilities to understand reporting needs and provide specific, measurable reports that influence how we deliver care. Our reports serve several purposes:
- Keeping facility management informed.
- Providing regional updates to head office.
- Delivering accurate and relevant data for tracking progress.
- Tailoring reports to meet facility needs.
- Offering live dashboards for real-time insights.
Equipment
Our physiotherapists are well-versed in equipment prescription. Residents require specialised equipment to cater to their needs and requirements. This includes:
- Walking sticks, walkers, and other physical walking aids.
- Planning and creating active falls management strategies, including sensing equipment like bed and chair sensors.
- Providing the latest in therapeutic technology, such as alternating air mattresses and compression garments.
Gym Facilities
Jasda Care provides gym equipment to our facilities, and our therapists manage gym classes to improve residents’ strength and mobility. We partner with well-known equipment providers to ensure our residents exercise in a stimulating environment, making fitness a fun activity.
By focusing on personalised care and measurable results, Jasda Care’s physiotherapy program ensures that each resident can achieve and maintain the highest possible level of mobility and independence.
